ICNZ ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD APPOINTMENTS AND PUBLISHES ITS 2019 ANNUAL REVIEW

The Insurance Council of New Zealand (ICNZ) is pleased to announce the appointment of its Board following its virtually conducted AGM on the 27th of March, 2020.

Paul Smeaton, CEO of Suncorp, was elected President and Craig Olsen, CE of IAG, was elected Vice President. ICNZ also welcomes Toni Ferrier, CEO of AIG, to the Board.

Tim Grafton, CE INCZ, says; “The ICNZ Board provides guidance and leadership for the sector and for ICNZ. While long standing members of the Board, I welcome both Paul and Craig to their new roles and extend a warm welcome to Toni who joins us this year.

“I look forward to working with our new Board – especially in the coming months as we respond to the Covid-19 outbreak and the various challenges it brings with it for the sector.”

Mr Tim Grafton acknowledged the support and guidance offered by outgoing President Martin Stokes, CE of the MAS group, who has held the role since 2016. Martin will remain on the Board this year. Mr Grafton also acknowledged outgoing Board member Marc Guppy, CEO Allianz, who leaves the Board this year after three years of service.

Following the AGM ICNZ also released its Annual Review for 2019, which outlines the activities and achievements of ICNZ for the past year. It also includes the latest industry statistics showing grows written premium and loss ration percentages across insurance lines.
